Sunday 23rd August 2009 TSQ (Top Secret Quarry)
Today another shot was placed at around 20m and the two shots were linked underwater. Trev and Dave then made there way along the line in near zero viz a distance of around 30m. We found car after car after car until we reached the other shot. One of the cars was a red BMW identified by the BMW badge on its wheel. We also lifted and recovered a motor bike frame. Thanks to Tat for providing surface cover.

More cars found at secret quarry
Trev and Dave were back in the quarry today and located about three or more cars. The plan was to lift the 25m shot with lifting bags and move it north but it was snagged in between concrete pipes. We descended down and Dave set free the shot we then proceeded to hump the shot through the black shit in a northerly direction until we came across the cars.
After a surface interval Trev and Adam dropped down the line to view the cars.

Secret Quarry Bottomed

Trev and Dave of the "Castawaydivers" today bottomed the secret quarry with the help of Jim and Tat giving surface cover.
The temperature at the surface was 22 degrees and had dropped to 6 degrees by the time we had descended to around 8m. Any natural light from the surface had disappeared by the usual 10 to 12m leaving us with just torch light.
The dive plan was to take water samples at 30m, 38m and a sample of the black sludge at 39.6m that the bottom is lined with. Trev put the full length of his arm down into the black sludge but could not feel a solid bottom.
We have now got samples from the surface, 10m, 20m, 30m, 38m and the bottom at nearly 40m these will be be going of for analysis.
